Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airport is the busiest airport in Dubai and also the world’s busiest in terms of international passenger numbers. The airport itself is made up of three passenger terminals – if you are flying with Emirates then you will be based at Terminal 3, the airline’s terminal at the airport that it shares with Qantas. Once you have landed at the airport you can hop on the Dubai Metro from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 in order to travel into central Dubai. Alternatively, many visitors to the UAE rent a car. You can look forward to a wide array of amenities and services at the airport including many restaurants and cafes as well as duty-free stores and many more shops.
Airport Information - Departing
Madrid Airport, known in full as Adolfo-Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, is the busiest airport in Spain situated less than 10km (6 miles) from the center of Madrid. The airport is comprised of four passenger terminals which you can easily travel between on a shuttle bus service to get to your terminal. If you aren’t driving or taking a taxi to the airport, you can use public transport to make the trip including on the Metro Line 8 or by bus. When you have arrived at the airport there are many things you can do to help pass the time including browsing through a variety of shops or sitting down for a meal or a drink at one of many restaurants and cafes.
What to Expect in Dubai
There are a wide variety of hotels in Dubai so you're sure to find something that suits your needs. In Dubai the weather is hot all year round, especially over the summer when temperatures exceed those in Madrid. EU nationals including Spanish citizens are entitled to enter Dubai without needing a visa. Dubai is two hours ahead of Madrid so don’t forget to put your clocks forward. Once you have arrived in Dubai you can easily get around and explore the city using the Dubai Metro, although renting a car will help if you want to go exploring outside the city.
