Arriving In Alicante
Alicante Airport, also known as Alicante-Elche Airport, is Spain’s 5th busiest airport located less than 10 km from the center of Alicante. The airport recently opened up a brand-new terminal in 2011 which offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafés to keep travelers occupied. Although taxis are readily available just outside the terminal building, there is a bus service available if you would rather use public transport to travel into the city. You can conveniently rent your own vehicle as soon as you have touched down at the airport, with many car rental agencies at Alicante airport operating in the arrivals hall.
Alicante Airport primarily handles flights to and from European destinations, many of which are on a seasonal basis. If you are looking to catch flights from the UAE to Alicante you will need to make a stopover somewhere as there are no direct flights available. However, Alicante Airport offers flights to and from many leading European airports so you can easily make the trip with just a single stopover.
