Arriving In Dakar

Dakar Airport, known in full as Leopold Sedar Senghor International Airport, is situated just outside of Dakar and has long been the city’s primary airport, although the construction of a new airport has recently been finalized and will replace Dakar Airport. The airport itself is housed within a single terminal complex and offers a small variety of restaurants and cafes, although there are plenty of retail shops available alongside duty-free shopping. Although there are bus services available to get around, you may prefer the convenience of a taxi to reach your destination directly.

Dakar Travel Information

Many nationals including those from the UAE will be able to enter Senegal on a visa free basis for up to 90 days at a time. In Dakar the weather is warm throughout the year, with the hottest period falling between July and October when you can expect average highs of over 30 degrees. In Dakar it is possible to get around by relying on the city’s extensive network of local buses, although you may prefer to visit one of the car-rental agencies at the airport to get your own vehicle.
