Why You Should Visit Dresden
Dresden is a historic place with a thriving cultural heritage and many world-class museums to explore, while the city also offers plenty for the contemporary visitor with its many lively bars, top-quality restaurants and shops. This beautiful city has done incredibly well to restore many of its historic buildings destroyed by bombing during World War II, with its historic old town one of the most beautiful in the entire country. Be sure to check out the rebuilt Frauenkirche church or visit one of the city’s excellent museums and galleries like the Albertinum Museum and the Dresden Kunsthaus. There are many interesting festivals and events held in Dresden each year – if you are visiting in June be sure to enjoy the annual Bunte Republik Neustadt street festival which runs through the night.
