Flying to Allahabad

Allahabad Airport is located around 12 km from the center of Allahabad and ranks as one of India’s oldest airports having opened all the way back in 1924. The airport currently handles a range of domestic flights with Alliance Air and IndiGo. The airport has recently benefited from a brand-new passenger terminal which opened in December 2018. This terminal has the capacity to handle up to 300 passengers at a time and offers a few essential amenities and facilities for travelers. There are a couple of snack bars and cafés where you can grab some refreshments, while there are also a small range of souvenir stores to pick up some memorable keepsakes before flying out.

Arriving in Allahabad

When you have touched down in Allahabad it is possible to hail a taxi just outside of the terminal building to reach your destination. Alternatively, local auto rickshaws can be found if you want a budget mode of transport. Public transport links at the airport are rather limited, but it will be possible to link up with local and interstate bus services (although you may need to catch a taxi first).
