How to Check In

IndiGo offers online check-in from 48 hours up to 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. No baggage can be checked-in online, however. This must be done at the airport so allow additional time. Be warned that IndiGo does not allow any changes to or cancellations of bookings that have used online check-in. Boarding gates close 3 minutes before take-off. Airport check-in is also possible. Desks close 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure while the gate closes 15 minutes before.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Every passenger is entitled to one item of hand luggage plus a personal item such as a laptop bag, handbag or briefcase. All carry-on luggage must not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm or 7kg. Checked baggage allowance is 1 bag per traveller which must not exceed the maximum total dimension of 158 cm or 15 kg in weight for domestic flights, and 20kg for international flights. Excess baggage is charged at a flat rate of $4 per kg plus the additional charge for example an extra 5kg will cost $4 and then $8 on top of that.


You can leave the airline to automatically allocate your seats at the time of booking, free of charge. Alternatively to sit in rows one and two will cost Rs 500 and Rs 800 for an international flight.

Booking Fees

A non-refundable fee Rs 125 is charged for bookings made by credit or debit card. In addition to this, a fee of Rs. 200 will be applicable to all bookings made via a call centre or travel agent. As a low cost airline, all on board refreshments are only available to purchase and can also be pre-ordered at time of booking.
