Arriving In Leipzig

Leipzig/Halle Airport is situated around 20 km away from the center of Leipzig and is made up of a single passenger terminal. If you would rather not pay for a taxi in order to get into the city from the airport, you can catch a train which takes around 15 minutes. Inside the airport there are plenty of facilities and services open to travelers including restaurants, cafés and eateries, retail and duty-free shopping and additional luxuries such as free Wi-Fi, children’s play areas and even a flight simulator.

As a UAE national traveling to Germany you don’t need to worry about a visa as the country is part of the Schengen Area. In Leipzig the weather can get pretty cold if you are visiting over the winter period so make sure to pack plenty of warm clothing, although temperatures soon warm up over the summer with average highs in the mid-20s between July and August. The city itself is served by an extensive public transport network consisting of buses, trains and trams, while there are plenty of car rental agencies at Leipzig/Halle Airport if you would rather have your own vehicle during your visit.
