Reasons To Visit Mali

Situated in West Africa, Mali is a large and beautiful country offering a plethora of memorable things to do and see. If you enjoy exploring nature then you can venture out into the great wilderness of Mali where you can find everything from the UNESCO listed Bandiagara Escarpment cliff complex or enjoy some of the beautiful sights in the Boucle du Baoule National Park which boasts prehistoric rock art alongside plenty of wildlife. For a more relaxing day out to be sure to visit the National Museum of Mali in the capital Bamako or see what else the capital has to offer with its bustling marketplaces and family-friendly attractions like Bamako Zoo.

Arriving In Mali

Bamako-Senou International Airport is the main airport in Mali situated around 15 km from the capital Bamako. The airport mostly handles flights from around the region but also has connections to a couple of destinations further afield. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Mali you won’t be able to make the journey nonstop, but there are a few flight options available which would involve just a single stopover.

At the airport you will find all of the basics you would expect to meet your needs. There is a cafeteria on site where you can grab a bite to eat, while the airport also offers a few shops alongside duty-free shopping. The easiest way to travel into the city from the airport is by taxi, which should be affordable for most at a distance of only 15 km. Official airport taxis are fitted with meters so you can get a fair price, or you may want to check with your hotel in case they run their own shuttle bus service.
