Valencia is Venezuela’s third biggest city. It's located close to the coast and is known for its many interesting historical buildings alongside plenty of things to do for the modern traveler. One of the best areas to begin your exploration of Valencia is the Plaza Bolivar area which is home to many of the most beautiful buildings in the city like the Cathedral. Just outside of the center towards the north you will find a more relaxed atmosphere and many of Valencia’s best shopping and dining spots. If you want to explore nature during your stay then head to the Parque Casupo which is ideal for hiking, or spend an evening in the Calle de los Cafes district which is where you will find many excellent restaurants and bars.

Arriving In Valencia

Valencia Airport, also known as Arturo Michelena International Airport, is the primary airport serving Valencia and also within reasonable traveling distance from Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. If you are looking to book flights from the UAE to Valencia, you will have to make a stopover somewhere as the airport is a fairly small regional airport which does not handle any direct flights from the UAE.

Valencia Airport is a minor airport that primarily handles domestic and regional flights, so don’t expect much when it comes to amenities and facilities and remember to come prepared and bring anything you desperately need with you. When your flight has arrived at the airport, the most convenient way to get into the city is to hop in a taxi just outside of the terminal.

UAE nationals traveling to Venezuela are entitled to enter the country visa free for up to 90 days at a time. In Valencia the weather is quite warm throughout the year with average highs in the mid-20s, while there is a rainy season which begins towards the end of May and finishes in October. To get on to local time you will need to wind back your clocks by eight hours, while prices in the city for things like accommodation and dining out can often be cheaper compared to the UAE so you’re unlikely to need a big budget. Getting around Valencia is possible by taxi or public bus and a metro network is still under development.
