Arriving In Yemen

There are a number of airports serving Yemen, although the two primary international airports are Sana’a International Airport and Aden International Airport. It is not currently possible to travel directly from the UAE to Yemen and flights to the country are suspended indefinitely. However, during normal operations it is straightforward to travel to Yemen from the UAE with just a single transfer if no direct flights are available.

UAE nationals traveling to Yemen will be able to obtain a visa upon arrival which is valid for up to three months. In Yemen you can expect the weather to be hot for most of the year, with the hottest period falling between June and September. However, some areas like the capital Sana’a experience cooler temperatures compared to the rest of the country with average highs in the low 20s between November and January. Yemen is just one hour behind the UAE, while the currency used in the country is the Yemeni rial. Prices in the country will be a lot lower than those in the UAE.
