Airport Information - Arriving
Bahrain International Airport is the main airport serving Bahrain comprised of two passenger terminals. Once you have landed at the airport, the most convenient way to reach central Manama is by taxi, although car rental companies are also available if you wish to use your own vehicle during your stay. At the airport you can look forward to a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes so you’re sure to find something to do to pass the time. Free Wi-Fi is also available to keep you up to date as well as a few airport lounges to wait for your flight in comfort.
Airport Information - Departing
Sharjah International Airport was first opened up in 1977 and is set within a single terminal complex. If you don’t want to drive or take a taxi to the airport, there are airport shuttle buses available from the center of the city. Once you have arrived at the airport you can find all of the amenities and facilities you would expect so you won’t be short on things to do. If you fancy something to eat before boarding your flight you can visit the food court area which is home to a large range of eateries and cafes, while the airport also offers a sizable duty free shopping area to pick up some cheap goods.
What to Expect in Bahrain
In Bahrain the weather is warm all year round but does cool off significant over the winter between December and March. Bahrain has a very open visa policy which allows many nationals to get a visa upon arrival. UAE nationals are able to enter the country visa-free as long as you bring a valid ID card with you. If you don’t want to use taxis to get around everywhere then your best bet would be to rent your own vehicle; many providers can be found at Bahrain International Airport so you can arrange things as soon as you land.
