Arriving In Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is situated only 6 km from the city center and is home to two passenger terminals, with Terminal 2 the base of international flights. The easiest way to travel into the city once you have arrived is to hop in a taxi just outside the airport and the trip is only a brief one. Renting a car in Addis Ababa is also an option. Inside the airport itself there are a few essential amenities and facilities available including a restaurant and a café as well as a couple of gift shops.

Addis Ababa Travel Information

Although some nationals are able to enter Ethiopia by getting a visa upon arrival, UAE nationals will have to apply for a visa in advance in order to travel. Addis Ababa is warm throughout the year but does not get as hot as it does in the UAE with average highs of between 20 to 25 degrees to be expected. Be advised that there is a rainy season in the region beginning towards the end of June and ending around August. Remember that Addis Ababa is one hour behind the UAE so don’t forget to alter your clocks once you have arrived.
