As the capital of Venezuela, Caracas is home to many of the country’s most interesting landmarks and attractions and also offers much more with its vibrant restaurants, shops and exciting outdoor possibilities outside of the city. Culture-lovers will want to visit the Teresa Carreno Cultural Complex which offers a diverse calendar of events comprising theatrical dramas, operas, musical concerts and ballets. One of the finest examples of architecture in the city is the National Pantheon of Venezuela which has recently benefited from restoration work, while those who prefer more modern works of architecture must set eyes upon the large Parque Central Complex. Outside of the city, travelers can explore the Avila mountain - if you are fit enough you can hike your way up, although there is a cable car if you would prefer a more relaxing journey.
