Cotonou Airport, also known as Cadjehoun Airport, is situated just 2 km away from the city of Cotonou and handles a range of international flights. If you are looking to book flights from the UAE to Cotonou you won’t find any direct flights available, but the airport has extensive connections in the region so it is easily possible to make the journey with only one transfer.
Cotonou Airport is housed within a single passenger terminal and offers all of the amenities and facilities you would need. In Cotonou temperatures are relatively consistent across the year with average highs of 28 to 32 degrees, with the hottest period coming between December to May. There are a couple of rainy seasons in the region from April to July and September to October, while the driest time of year is from November until March. At Cotonou Airport there are a number of car rental agencies available on site, so you can conveniently get hold of a vehicle as soon as you have arrived in the country. In Benin the currency you will need is the West African CFA franc, while you will need to put your clocks back by three hours to get on local time.
