Why You Should Visit Gdansk
Boasting a rich history as an ancient seaport for over 1,000 years, Gdansk is a beautiful city lined with classical architecture and many fascinating heritage sites. The best place to start your adventure in the city is to head down to the Old Town, locally known as the Stare Miasto – here many of the city’s finest historic buildings and museums are to be found. However, Gdansk is not just a city for sightseers and cultural enthusiasts as it offers much more with its vibrant bars and clubs, boutique shops and beautiful coastline. Although the sea is cold at the best of times, there are many beaches lining the coast where you can soak up the summer sunshine or enjoy a meal at a seaside café. Families with children will find plenty to do to keep the kids entertained – one fun day out for all the family is a visit to Gdansk Zoo, one of Poland’s largest.
