The ancient city of Thessaloniki is Greece’s second-largest celebrated as one of its most vibrant cultural centers. The most famous landmark in the city is the White Tower of Thessaloniki, although there are many more stunning architectural wonders like the Church of Agios Demetrios and the Metropolitan Church of St Palamas which makes Thessaloniki an excellent sightseeing destination. The city has also recently been voted as one of Europe’s most lively party cities where you will find many colorful bars and clubs to party the night away – one of the most popular areas of the city is Aristotle Square, although other alternative nightlife spots include the Ladadika district or along Proxenou Koromila street. Arriving In Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki International Airport is located just over 10 km from the city center and is housed within a single terminal complex. If you would rather not pay for a taxi once you have arrived, there is a 24-hour bus service available which can take you into the city center in around 40 minutes. Although you can navigate around the city using the local bus network, there are plenty of car rental agencies Thessaloniki airport if you would rather have your own vehicle. Inside the airport itself you’ll find a decent range of amenities including various dining and drinking establishments alongside retail and duty-free shopping.
