The airport is located just 5 km away from Heraklion and offers all of the essential amenities and facilities you would need. Along with a restaurant and a few bars and cafés, you can find retail and duty-free shopping or connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi network to make your stay enjoyable. If you would rather use public transport when you have landed you can find buses to take you into the city, although you may prefer the convenience of a taxi to make the short journey into Heraklion.

Heraklion International Airport primarily handles seasonal flights to and from European destinations and does not yet handle any flights from the UAE, so visitors looking to travel from the UAE will need to make a stopover somewhere.
