Reasons to Visit Nasik

Nasik, also spelt as Nashik, is situated in the state of Maharashtra and has a history stretching back thousands of years. The city is one of the holiest in India and is one of the sites of the famous Kumbh Mela gathering held every 12 years. There are an endless range of significant religious and historical landmarks in and around the city, most of which can be found around the sacred area of Panchavati. Be sure to set aside a day to see the stunning Pandavleni Caves less than 10 km from Nasik – these caves are believed to be over 2,000 years old and contain a rich tapestry of engravings and inscriptions.

Flying to Nasik

Nasik Airport operates as both a civilian and military airport and is set within a new passenger terminal which opened in 2014. The airport handles a small range of domestic services to and from Indian destinations and there are currently no plans to open up any international routes. This means that UAE-based travelers won’t be able to fly directly to Nasik, but you will be able to make the journey with just a single transfer. The airport terminal itself offers a small range of facilities and amenities including a few convenience stores and eateries.

Arriving in Nasik

Upon arrival at Nasik Airport you will be able to catch a taxi from just outside of the terminal building to reach your destination directly. As public transport links are limited at the airport, you may want to prearrange a transfer before flying just to stay on the safe side.
