At Shillong Airport you will find a small range of facilities to meet your needs, although the options are rather limited as the airport is a small domestic airport. There are a couple of snack bars available so you won’t go hungry while you wait for your flight, while you will also find a couple of souvenir and gift stores to pick up travel basics and any other necessities. Once you have arrived at the airport, taxis are available just outside of the terminal building to take you to your destination.

In Shillong temperatures are fairly warm for most of the year, with average highs of 28 to 29 degrees from March until September. However, there is a rainy season in the region beginning in May and finishing in September, while the winter period from December to February sees a drop in temperatures so you may need some warm clothing in the evenings. You’ll need to put your clocks forward by one hour and 30 minutes to get on the local time zone in Shillong, while the price of most things in the city will tend to be a lot cheaper compared to the UAE so you won’t need a large budget.
