Airport Information - Arriving

Dubai International Airport is renowned as one of the world’s finest airports offering a wide range of things to do while you wait for your flight. Alongside its world-class array of shops which includes duty-free stores, you will be able to choose from an eclectic range of dining and drinking options serving up everything from cheap eats to gourmet cuisine and everything in between. The airport itself is comprised of three passenger terminals which you can easily transfer between. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are part of the Dubai Metro network so you can conveniently travel into central Dubai straight from the airport. If you are based at Terminal 2 then you can use the free shuttle bus provided to reach the rest of the airport or simply flag down a taxi outside the terminal to reach your destination.

Airport Information - Departing

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the primary airport in Jakarta located around 20km (12 miles) from the city. The airport is home to three passenger terminals and is planning to open up a fourth terminal by 2022. While you wait for your flight there are numerous retail and travel stores available as well as duty-free shops to help you pass the time, while there are also a variety of eating and drinking options if you want to refuel before continuing your journey. If you don’t want to drive or take a taxi to the airport there are airport shuttle buses available from Jakarta.

What to Expect in Dubai

In Dubai the weather is always warm and gets especially hot over the summer between April and September, although things cool down over the winter if you want to avoid the heat. Although some nationals can enter Dubai without needing a visa or get one upon arrival, Indonesian nationals will need to get a visa before flying. Dubai is 3 hours behind Jakarta so you will need to wind back your clocks once you land.
