How to Check In

Passengers with Garuda Indonesia are able to check-in in a variety of different ways to suit your needs. The airline has a web check-in service which is open from 24 hours up to four hours before your flight, while the mobile check-in is also open from 24 hours before flight departure times and allows passengers to select their seat from their mobile device. Travelers also have the option to check-in at Garuda Indonesia kiosks or check-in by telephone from 24 hours before flights. The airline advise all passengers to check-in at their airport at least two hours before international flights and one hour before domestic flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Garuda Indonesia grants all passengers free checked baggage in addition to hand baggage which can be taken on board. Economy Class passengers are entitled to 20kg of checked baggage, while Business Class permits 30kg and First Class grants 40kg. The airline also allow an additional 10kg on international flight routes, so passengers are advised to check with Garuda Indonesia for up-to-the-minute information on your fare. Hand baggage is also allowed on board as must not exceed 7kg or 41cm x 34cm x 17cm. Any passenger with overweight or oversized baggage will be subject to additional charges.


Garuda Indonesia flights have up to three flight classes - Economy, Business and First Class. Economy Class seats offer ample legroom, while the 43 inch seat pitch on Business Class allows you to travel in style. First Class passengers can look forward to private cabin seating with an 82 inch pitch and lie-flat design to travel in supreme comfort. Passengers are able to select seating during the check-in process to pick your preferred seat.

On Board Service

Garuda Indonesia is known for its immaculate level of service and tasty food. All passengers are served meals on flights, with Economy passengers able to dine on a varied menu of Asian and Western food.
