The main international airport serving London is London Heathrow Airport which also ranks as the busiest airport in Europe. Travelers looking to fly from Kathmandu to London will not be able to make the journey directly as there are no airlines currently offering direct flights, but you can make the journey with a stopover. Most flights involving just one stopover arrive at London Heathrow Airport, although select flights with a single stopover also land at London Gatwick Airport, the second airport serving London.

Airport Information - Arriving
London Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in the UK serving over 75 million people a year. The airport is comprised of four passenger terminals which are linked together by train if you need to make a transfer. Once you have landed at the airport you can travel into London in just 15 minutes using the Heathrow Express, although there are plenty of other alternatives available including the London Underground or by bus. The airport offers a vast range of amenities and services including a wide selection of shops, restaurants and cafes, so you will not be bored while you wait for your flight.
Gatwick Airport is London’s second airport located around 50km outside of central London. You can travel into the center of London in just 30 minutes by travelling on the Gatwick Express, although you can also find bus and train services capable of taking you there more cheaply. The airport itself is home to two passenger terminals which offer everything you would need in terms of amenities and services whether it’s somewhere to sit down with a meal or duty-free shops and retail stores. Travelers are also able to benefit from free Wi-Fi for up to 90 minutes so you can stay up-to-date with friends and colleagues.

Airport Information - Departing
Tribhuvan International Airport is Nepal’s main airport located just outside of the center of Kathmandu. The airport has a domestic terminal and an international terminal and offers a basic range of facilities and services to meet your needs. If you do not want to take a taxi to the airport there are public buses which take around thirty minutes. Alongside a few places to eat and drink and a couple of shops, the airport provides free Wi-Fi and is also home to an airport lounge in the international terminal.
What to Expect in London
While the London weather over the summer is sunny and warm, it does get rather cold over the winter so make sure you pack the appropriate clothing depending on when you visit. While some nationals including UAE citizens are able to enter the UK without requiring a visa, Nepalese nationals will need to arrange a visa first before making the trip.
