Cheap Flights from Newcastle to Lisbon

Lisbon Airport, also known as Lisbon Portela Airport, is Portugal’s main airport situated just 7km away from the center of Lisbon. If you are traveling from Newcastle to Lisbon there are not currently any direct flights available, but new routes may open in the future which will allow you to travel to Lisbon from Newcastle without needing to make a stopover.

Lisbon Airport is comprised of two passenger terminals which are linked together by a free shuttle bus, so you can easily transfer between flights when you have landed. If you want to get into central Lisbon from the airport you can travel on the metro system or catch a public bus, while there are also plenty of taxis available just outside the airport if you would prefer a direct journey to your destination. The airport itself is renowned as one of the finest in Europe and offers a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants. The airport also provides passengers with free Wi-Fi and offers Internet kiosks to get online.

Airport Information - Departing

Newcastle International Airport is situated less than 10km away from the center of Newcastle so you can easily reach the airport by taxi, although the airport is also connected to Newcastle by public bus and on the Tyne & Wear Metro. While you wait for your flight at the airport there are plenty of things to do including numerous shops to browse through and pick up some last-minute products as well as a range of cafes and eateries. You are also able to access free Wi-Fi for up to 45 minutes at a time, while those with children can visit the games room at the airport.

What to Expect in Lisbon

In Lisbon you can expect the weather to be a lot warmer compared to Newcastle, especially so over the summer when temperatures can reach scorching highs. Portugal is within the Schengen Area and UK nationals will not need a visa in order to travel, while UAE nationals are also able to enter on a visa-free basis.
