Emirates offers a direct flight from Rome to Dubai via Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, Rome’s busiest airport. Be advised that all flights from Rome to Dubai land at Dubai International Airport and not Al Maktoum International Airport.

Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic comprised of three passenger terminals. At the airport you can find a huge range of shops offering everything from designer and luxury brands to duty free goods. Alongside this travelers can enjoy a wide selection of places to eat and drink whether it’s gourmet restaurants or cheap eateries. Once you have landed at the airport the quickest way to reach the center of Dubai is on the Dubai Metro which is linked to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, or you can just as easily find licensed taxis outside each terminal at all hours of the day.
Airport Information - Departing
Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is the main airport serving Rome that also goes by the name of Rome Fiumicino Airport. The airport is comprised of four passenger terminals which offer all of the amenities and facilities you would need for a pleasant stay. The airport is known for its extensive range of designer and luxury stores and also offers extensive duty free shopping, while you can also choose from many different restaurants and cafes to refuel before flying out. The airport is linked to central Rome by public transport, or you can catch a taxi in Rome to reach the airport, which is 26km outside of the city center. Direct flights to Dubai on Emirates depart from Rome's Terminal 3.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai the weather is especially hot over the summer but cools down to pleasantly warm levels over the winter period. Nationals from EU nations are able to enter Dubai without requiring a visa in advance, while other nationals including UK and US citizens can obtain one upon arrival. There are plenty of hotels in Dubai catering for every budget. Be advised that Rome is 2 hours behind Dubai so remember to put your clocks back when you land.
