Discover Armenia
Armenia is becoming an increasingly popular tourism destination in the modern era thanks to its wealth of unique historical sites, modern cultural attractions and beautiful natural landscape. Those visiting Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, can look forward to seeing some of the country’s finest heritage sites up close such as the Erebuni Fortress, estimated to be close to 3,000 years old, or the stunning Opera House in the city center. Most of the country’s best museums and art galleries are also found in the capital, making it the perfect getaway for culture lovers. Armenia is also famed for its broad range of outdoor possibilities such as hiking, rock climbing and camping. Many enjoy roaming the countryside as there are many monasteries and ancient ruins one can stumble upon amidst the beautiful untouched terrain.
When to Visit Armenia
Armenia benefits from hot and dry summers which make it a perfect summer destination for sun lovers, although over the winter it can get bitterly cold. However, there are plenty of things to do in Armenia all year round so any visit will be a rewarding one. Be advised that the country experiences something of a rainy season in April and May, so this may be a period to avoid if you don’t like the rain. Cheap flights to Armenia may be easier to find over winter as very few visit due to the cold, although if you book early enough you can find excellent prices all year round.

There are flights from Dubai to Armenia operated by flydubai, while Air Arabia also offers flights from Sharjah. Currently Zvartnots International Airport is the only airport in the country with flights to and from the UAE.
Armenia Travel Information
While Schengen Area nationals and EU members are able to enter Armenia without requiring a visa, other nationals including those from the UAE will need to purchase a visa. This can be done either before traveling through an e-Visa or in person once you have landed. It may be easier to arrange an e-Visa to skip the queues at the airport, and they are usually approved within 2-3 business days. Be advised that you will need to use the local currency, the Armenian dram, if buying your visa at the airport.
