Reasons To Visit Cyprus
The island of Cyprus lies in the Mediterranean Ocean just south of Turkey and boasts a history stretching back thousands of years. There are many things that this beautiful island offers whether it’s exciting outdoor activities and stunning beaches or important historical monuments, while there are also many popular coastal resorts offering busy restaurants, nightclubs and shops. The capital of Cyprus is Nicosia located in the center of the island – here you can find many of the island’s finest heritage sites and museums alongside top class restaurants and shops. Along the southern coast of Cyprus you have the cities of Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca which are popular with those looking for sunshine and sand, while adventurous travelers may consider an excursion into the Troodos Mountains.

Arriving In Cyprus
Larnaca International Airport is the busiest airport in Cyprus handling a range of international flights. The airport is the only destination in Cyprus handling direct flights from the UAE, with direct flights available from Dubai. Currently the only airline providing flights out of Dubai is Emirates, with all flights departing from Dubai International Airport (How to beat the Emirates baggage allowance rules). In addition to this, it will also be possible to travel to Cyprus from Abu Dhabi beginning in 25 February 2018, with flights handled by Cobalt Air.
Larnaca International Airport itself is located only 4 km away from the city of Larnaca and is housed within a single passenger terminal. Inside the airport you will find a decent range of cafés and eateries alongside retail and duty-free shopping, while there are bus services available to travel into the city from the airport if you are on a budget and don’t want to pay for a taxi.
Cyprus Travel Information
UAE nationals looking to travel to Cyprus will be able to do so without a visa despite the fact that Cyprus is not yet officially a part of the Schengen Area. The weather across the island is relatively similar - you can expect fairly hot summers with average highs of around 27 degrees, while the weather remains relatively mild during the winter period. There are a number of car rental agencies at Larnaca International Airport, so it is easy to get a hold of your own vehicle as soon as you have touched down.
