Reasons to Visit Jammu
Jammu is known as the “City of Temples” in homage to its stunning range of temples and religious sites, while its favorable winter climate has led to its status as the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir state. Besides its huge range of temples to explore which will take more than a few days, there are plenty of other landmarks around the city like the Amar Mahal Museum (in a former palace) and the Hari Parbat Fort. Those looking for a more outdoor-oriented trip can head out to the gorgeous hilltop Patnitop, one of India’s most famous scenic spots. Alternatively, visit the rugged mountainous terrain of the nearby Bhaderwah which is excellent for hikers.
