Reasons To Visit Djibouti
Djibouti is one of the smallest nations in Africa but still offers a lot for travelers with its many exciting outdoor opportunities and beautiful natural landscape. Within Djibouti City itself you can find a vibrant range of bars, restaurants and cafés to take in the city atmosphere, or you can spend a day relaxing on a beach to the east. One of the most popular activities in the country is scuba diving off the coast with its many lively coral reefs and crystal clear waters. You may also want to visit Lake Assal, the second lowest point on the planet, which is located outside of the capital.
Arriving In Djibouti
Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport is the main airport in Djibouti situated just 6 km away from Djibouti City. The airport itself is fairly small and is made up of a single passenger terminal, with very little available when it comes to facilities and services. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Djibouti you will be able to make the trip directly out of Dubai. The two airlines providing flights from Dubai are Daallo Airlines and flydubai (Flydubai baggage allowance and fares explained)., with both airlines operating out of Dubai International Airport, the main airport in Dubai.
Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport provides only the bare essentials in terms of amenities, with a small duty-free shop on site and very little else. Once your flight has touched down at the airport, the most convenient way to get around is to get in a taxi just outside of the terminal. However, many hotels in the region will provide their own shuttle services so you should check with your hotel before catching your flight. Alternatively, you could consider renting a car in Djibouti.
