Traveling to Shimla

Shimla Airport is situated around 20 km from the center of Shimla and currently handles just a single flight route from Delhi so if you are looking to travel from the UAE to Shimla it won’t be possible to make the journey directly. However, Delhi Airport handles many flights directly from the UAE, so you can conveniently make the trip with only a single transfer. Alternatively, you may consider arriving at the nearby Chandigarh International Airport which handles direct flights from Sharjah and Dubai International Airport and has good road connections to Shimla.

Shimla Airport is a relatively small and basic airport offering very little in terms of facilities and amenities, so bring any essentials you need with you. When you have arrived at the airport, you can arrange for a prepaid taxi inside so that you will get a fair price for your trip. The journey into Shimla from the airport will take longer than expected due to the difficult mountainous terrain in the region.
