Great value for money

We stayed with 4 girls for an overnight stay in Cologne as we were at a concert in the Vinegar Factory.
The staff is friendly and helpful throughout. The room (we had a 4bed room) was clean and perfectly adequate.
There were towels for everyone, soap, shower gel and cosmetic towels are in the bathroom for use.
Breakfast was included in the price and had everything we needed. On weekends you can have breakfast until 12 o'clock.
There were bread rolls, toast, bread, fresh waffles, sausage, cheese, cream cheese, jams, scrambled eggs, cookery and bacon, yogurt, cereal, various salads.
And I certainly forgot to list some of them now.
Our room was facing the street, directly across is a bar. Of course it is noisy there on weekends, but I expect that when I book an overnight stay so centrally. We all had ear opax with us and therefore no problem with the noise.

Would recommend

Better than expected. Staff are all lovely and even opened the group room for our party of 8. Room was basic but clean and well appointed. Blinds didn’t really keep the morning light out well. There was a bit of a funny smell but not horrible! Breakfast was good and included. All round very good

To flee

As soon as we arrive, we feel like we have arrived in a youth or refugee centre!
Total mess!
All night shouting, knocking in the walls...
Reported at the reception with video to make notice. The gentleman at the reception goes upstairs to inform them to respect the silence but just left, it is even worse. Again reported, but this time he does not bother to reprimand them, telling me that it is tolerable!!!!
Reservation made for 4 people,
Showing 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed.
Result, 2 bunk beds.
Hotel with parking??
Even if you want to make a reservation, we are always told we are full.
170 € « the night».
The only time I don’t look at reviews before booking, will have cost me one night.
To fleee!!!

We're not coming back.

The “hotel” is well located and close to the center. Breakfast is regulinchis. And unfortunately, it has more negatives than positives.
On their website they are advertised as hotel standards at hostel prices.. Well, let me disagree: no hotel standards, no hostel prices. We booked on the web and ordered 3 single beds because we were traveling 3 adults, but we were given 2 bunk beds (one of which was very unstable and the other with the top mattress undressed), as if we were in a teenage camp. As if that were not enough, the sheets were holed, the towels were broken, the controller had no batteries, there was no sign to ask for cleaning or not to disturb, the rooms have no kettle, the door to the room has no latch or safety, anyway... After commenting this at reception the next morning to Nicky/Nicole (however written), he told us that he would communicate it to the rest of the staff to solve the incidents. We arrived that same day in the evening to find that nothing had been managed. Again at reception, I met Nicole (who was already leaving) and when I told her that no one had changed anything in our room, she shrugged and told me that she could do nothing anymore. I told him that the situation was unacceptable, to which he replied that he did not know what had happened and that he was leaving. He's effectively gone. And thank God we didn’t have to deal with her anymore, as we felt that her attitude was not right to face the public, let alone in a hotel reception.
The only highlight of the establishment was Petko, to whom we greatly appreciate his kindness and his willingness to help. After explaining our situation, he gave us the closest thing to a solution we received from the staff, as he offered us change of towels and sheets immediately, as well as an apology. It should be noted that the sheets in the room had to be changed by us and the rest of the stay the broken/dirty sheets and towels remained in the room until our departure, as no one picked them up at any time. I hope Petko feels well appreciated by the management and management of the establishment, because otherwise he would be wasting his talent.

School trip

We had with our 9. Classes a wonderful stay at Hostel Cologne. We didn't miss anything. Thank you so much! The staff were all friendly. The arrival and departure worked well. Our students particularly liked the lounge in the basement, where they could hang out in peace until late at night. Clear recommendation!
