Etihad Airways takes its name from the Arabic word for ‘union’. Set up by Royal decree in 2003, Etihad has been one of the fastest growing airlines in history. Etihad is the second largest airline in the UAE, operating more than 1000 flights in a single week to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Its headquarters are in Abu Dhabi. Etihad’s popularity lies in its combination of modern ultra-luxury and Arabian hospitality which it mixes seamlessly to create a unique in-flight experience; one where east meets west and culture and hospitality meet cutting edge comfort.
