Dubai International Airport is one of the world’s premier airports offering a wealth of shops, restaurants and other amenities. The airport itself is made up of three passenger terminals each offering everything you would need for a pleasant stay. While Terminals 1 and 3 are linked to the Dubai Metro network, you will need to catch a free shuttle bus in order to reach Terminal 2. You can find a wide selection of shops at the airport offering everything from designer clothes and jewelry to all the travel basics you would need, while there are also many different dining and drinking options available. Other amenities available at the airport include free Wi-Fi and multiple luxurious airport lounges if you like to wait for flights in style.
Airport Information - Departing
Queen Alia International Airport is the main airport serving Amman located around 30km from the city. The airport is a new single-terminal complex which opened up in 2013 to replace the airport’s two old terminals. Everything you would expect of a modern airport can be found at Queen Alia International Airport including numerous places to eat and duty free shopping. Getting to and from the airport is easy with the 24 hour shuttle bus operated by the airport, although you can just as easily hop in a taxi. You can stay connected at the airport with free Wi-Fi available for a period up to 4 hours, or you can wait in the Crown Lounge or Petra Lounge before your journey for a fee on the door.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai the weather is hot all year round and temperatures soar above what Amman is used to experiencing. If you do prefer a cooler climate then visiting Dubai sometime between October and March may be more ideal.
