There are three airports serving the city of Milan - Milan-Malpensa Airport, Linate Airport and Milan Bergamo Airport. If you are flying from Berlin to Milan you can land at all three of Milan’s airport depending on your preferences. Travelers flying out of Berlin Schonefeld Airport can catch flights with Ryanair (Maximising your hand luggage allowances) and easyJet (easyJet luggage information), while Air Berlin operates flights to Linate Airport departing from Berlin Tegel Airport.

Airport Information - Arriving
Milan-Malpensa Airport is the main airport in Milan and also Italy’s busiest airport comprised of two passenger terminals. Once you have landed at the airport you can swiftly journey into the center of Milan on the Malpensa Express, while those needing to transfer between terminals can hop on the free shuttle bus provided by the airport. As a large and modern airport, travelers can enjoy an extensive range of amenities and services including various places to eat and drink and many high-end shops.
Milan Linate Airport is located just 7km from central Milan and is linked to the city by buses so you can easily make your way into the city. The airport itself is comprised of a single terminal and offers a small range of amenities so you won’t be short on things to do whether it’s a place to eat or somewhere to buy your travel essentials. You can also benefit from unlimited free Wi-Fi at the airport or upgrade to an even quicker connection for a fee.
Milan Bergamo Airport is a fairly small airport consisting of a single passenger terminal but still offers plenty of amenities including many fast food outlets, cafes and restaurants. The airport itself is situated around 45km from central Milan – once you have landed you can use buses to journey into central Milan or simply flag down a taxi.

Berlin Tegel Airport is the main airport in Berlin situated just 8km away from the city. Getting to the airport is possible by public bus if you don’t want to rely on a taxi, although parking is available if you are driving. The airport is scheduled to be replaced by Berlin Brandenburg Airport, a new airport currently under construction. All of the amenities and services you would expect can be found including a range of places to eat and drink as well as an ample selection of shops, so you won’t be short on things to do while you wait to board your flight.
Berlin Schonefeld Airport is the secondary airport serving Berlin comprised of four passenger terminals. The airport is fairly large and offers everything you would need whether it’s a place to enjoy a meal or shops to pick up some last-minute gifts and essentials. You can get to the airport using public transport as it is connected to the S-Bahn network, while there are also conventional train services that can take you there from Berlin.
What to Expect in Milan
In Milan you can expect the weather to be a bit warmer compared to Berlin, although you will still need to pack something warm if you are visiting over the winter. As you will be traveling within the Schengen Area there is no need to get a visa as an EU or UAE national, but don’t forget to bring your travel documents including your passport.
