One of Europe’s leading airlines, easyJet was launched in 1995 by Greek Cypriot businessman Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou with two aircraft offering just two routes. Today the airline operates flights across Europe but has not yet established a network of Middle East flights other than routes to Israel and Egypt. 300 million passengers are never more than a one hour drive from an easyJet hub airport which includes Gatwick, Stansted Edinburgh, Nice, Milan, Venice, Amsterdam and Paris. easyJet fly more of Europe’s top one hundred routes than any other airline, with a loyal customer base thanks to their budget flight prices.

Why fly with easyJet

How to Check In

easyJet no longer offers the option to check-in at the airport. Instead, all customers must use the online systems to check-in. This can be done from 30 days up to two hours prior to flight departure. It is essential to print the boarding pass after checking in online as a charge will be incurred if requesting a copy at the airport. Passengers can also check-in using the easyJet mobile app. This environmentally friendly option means that no print out of the boarding pass is required – passengers simply download the boarding pass to their smartphone and show it to staff on check-in. Boarding gates close at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, no exceptions, so ensure a timely arrival. Those with baggage will need to drop-off bags at a Bag Drop area at least 40 minutes before departure times.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

All passengers are entitled to one piece of carry-on luggage with no weight limit, although it must not exceed 56cm x 45cm x 25cm in size. easyJet Plus, FLEXI fare, Up Front and extra legroom customers can also take a smaller item such as a handbag or laptop bag on board. All checked in baggage paid online costs between 60-135AED* each way and must not exceed 20 kg. This increases to up to 200AED* if booked at the airport. Excess baggage is charged at 14AED* per kilo up to a maximum of 32kg.

easyJet now has allocated seating on all flights meaning no more scrums when boarding! However, although this is now free (if passengers have no seat preferences), seating costs vary depending on whether you want an up front seat or one with extra leg room. Anyone wishing to specify a particular seat must pay between 9-32AED*. First row seats cost from 55-90AED*, while Overwing seats are available from 30-60AED*.

Booking Fees

easyJet charges a standard ‘new booking’ administration fee of 70AED* which is included as part of your fare. Additional charges apply to name, date or route changes while anyone paying by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, or UATP/ AirPlus credit card will incur an additional transaction fee of 1.0%.
