Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airport is the busiest airport in Dubai and also the world’s busiest in terms of international passenger traffic. Once you have arrived at the airport you can conveniently travel into central Dubai on the Dubai Metro which is connected to both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, although you can just as easily flag down a taxi to reach your destination directly. Alternatively, many visitors to the UAE rent a car. Flydubai operate from Terminal 2 and there is a shuttle bus to the other terminals. Emirates fly in and out of Terminal 3. Whilst waiting for flights at the airport you can look forward to a world-class range of amenities and services so all of your needs will be met. Alongside a vast selection of shops, restaurants and cafes which includes extensive duty free shopping, there are many more amenities available including free Wi-Fi, luxurious airport lounges and even sleep pods to catch up on some rest before continuing your journey.
Airport Information - Departing
Julius Nyerere International Airport is the main airport in Dar Es Salaam situated around 12km from the city. Once you have arrived at the airport be advised that the two passenger terminals are separated so you will need to take a taxi trip if you haven’t arrived at your terminal. There are only a limited range of amenities available for travelers at the airport so be sure to bring what you need with you to stay on the safe side. The airport does not currently have any public transport links to the city so you will need to make your own way there - if you don’t have your own vehicle then your best bet is by taxi.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai you can expect the weather to be hot throughout the year, although temperatures cool off considerably over winter between December and February. Although many nationals are able to enter Dubai without needing a visa beforehand, visitors from Tanzania will first need to acquire a visa before making the journey. In Dubai you can expect prices to generally be considerably higher compared to Dar Es Salaam so keep an eye on your finances, but there are plenty of hotels in Dubai for every budget.
