The main airport in Chicago is Chicago O’Hare International Airport, occasionally shortened to O’Hare Airport, which is situated 27 km outside of the city. The smaller Midway International Airport is located only 10 km from the city but mostly handles domestic flights. Only Emirates provides direct flights from Dubai to Chicago. All flights to Chicago from Dubai depart from Dubai International Airport and not Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai’s second airport.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport is the world’s sixth busiest airport offering a huge range of amenities for travelers to enjoy. At the airport you can look forward to browsing through the latest fashion and retail goods or doing a bit of duty-free shopping, while you can also find a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and bars at the airport. The airport itself consists of four passenger terminals - Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and Terminal 5. Terminal 5 is the dedicated international terminal so travelers flying to and from Dubai will be based in this terminal. Once you have landed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport it is easy to get into central Chicago on the CTA Blue Line with the journey taking 40-50 minutes. Numerous car rental agencies are also available.

Dubai International Airport is the main airport in Dubai and also the world’s busiest in terms of international passenger traffic. The airport is made up of three passenger terminals which each offer a wide range of amenities and facilities. Getting to the airport is easy as both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are connected to the Dubai Metro network – if you are flying with Emirates you will need to travel to Terminal 3. The airport is home to many shops including leading designer brands and duty free stores, while you can also find a wide range of places to eat and drink if you want to fill up before flying out. There are plenty more luxuries provided for travelers at the airport including rest zones, free Wi-Fi access and multiple airport lounges.
