Airport Information - Arriving

Hamad International Airport is the main airport in Qatar located just outside of the city center and housed within a single passenger terminal. When you have arrived at the airport there are a few ways that you can reach your destination including by public transport. There are multiple bus routes running from the airport to areas across the city and taxis are readily available outside of the terminal. The airport will also be linked up to the new metro network once it is in full operation (scheduled for December 2019). There are plenty of restaurants and cafés across the airport if you fancy a meal or a drink, while the airport also boasts a wide selection of designer, duty-free and retail stores. Free Wi-Fi access is also provided at the airport along with other amenities like children’s play areas and airport lounges.

Airport Information - Departing

Dubai International Airport is the primary airport in Dubai, located only 5 km from the city center. You can reach the airport on the Dubai Metro which is directly connected to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 or catch a public bus instead. The airport itself is noted for its world-class range of facilities and services, so you’re sure to find everything you could possibly need. The world’s leading luxury and designer brands have stores in the airport and there are also many other retail and duty-free shops to explore. Along with this, other facilities available include several restaurants and cafés, free Wi-Fi connectivity and airport lounges.

Al Maktoum International Airport is Dubai’s secondary airport, situated around 40 km from Dubai. The airport is still under development but offers everything you would need for an enjoyable experience. You’ll find duty-free shopping and a selection of retail stores as well as plenty of cafés and eateries if you are feeling hungry. The airport is linked to Dubai via a bus service if you don’t want to drive or take a taxi.

What to Expect in Doha

Due to diplomatic tensions UAE nationals are not currently able to travel to Qatar, although in previous years it was possible to enter the country without needing a visa. The weather in Doha is similar to Dubai with scorching hot summers and very little rainfall across the year. In general prices in Doha are similar to Dubai for things like eating out and accommodation, and the currency you will need during your visit to Qatar is the Qatari riyal. There are plenty of hotels in Doha catering for every budget.
