Airport Information - Arriving
Bagdogra Airport is situated approximately 45 km from Jalpaiguri and 65 km from Darjeeling and primarily handles domestic flights from around India. The airport is housed within a single passenger terminal and doesn’t offer very much in terms of options, although you can find all of the essentials you would need. There is a small selection of cafés and eateries available serving up refreshments so you won’t go hungry while you wait for your flight. There is also a business center on site where you can gain Wi-Fi access for a fee if you need to get online. When your flight has arrived you will find that the easiest option is to hop in a taxi just outside of the airport. Official airport taxis will be fitted with meters and you can also visit a taxi booth to pay for your journey before setting off.
Airport Information - Departing
Dubai International Airport is Dubai’s primary airport located just 5 km from the city. The airport is housed across three passenger terminals and is accessible by public transport either on the Dubai Metro or by bus. The airport is known for its exceptional range of designer shops, duty-free stores and many different restaurants and cafés to keep passengers happy. There are also plenty more luxuries available on site including numerous airport lounges, rest zones and complimentary Wi-Fi access. If you plan on driving yourself to the airport you will find plenty of short- and long-term parking spaces available.
Al Maktoum International Airport is Dubai’s secondary airport and is situated less than 40 km from central Dubai. The airport has not yet been fully constructed but provides all of the basic amenities and services you would need including plenty of retail and duty-free shops as well as a few cafés and eateries. Reaching the airport from central Dubai is possible by public bus if you don’t want to pay for a taxi or drive your own vehicle. Free Wi-Fi connectivity is also available so you can surf the internet to help pass the time.
