There are two airports in Dubai - Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport. Flydubai and Wizz Air offer direct flights from Bucharest to Dubai. Flydubai flights operate via Dubai International Airport, while Wizz Air operate via Al Maktoum International Airport.

Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airporthas three passenger terminals and you can easily transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 via the Dubai Metro, although you will need to use the free shuttle bus provided by the airport to get to Terminal 2. The airport is known for its world-class array of shops with everything from designer brands and duty free goods to all the basics available, while you can also find a wide selection of places to eat and drink. The quickest way to reach central Dubai from the airport is by hopping on the Dubai Metro at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, or you can just as easily flag down a taxi outside all terminals. The easiest way to travel around the UAE is to rent a car.
Al Maktoum International Airport is Dubai’s newest airport and is not yet operating at full capacity but still offers all of the amenities and services you would need for a pleasant stay. As well as a sizeable range of shops and duty free goods, there are many choices available when it comes to dining and drinking. The airport is projected to be the world’s largest once complete and will also be linked to the Dubai World Central Mall to offer a huge range of shops, cafes and eateries.
Airport Information - Departing
Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport is Bucharest’s primary airport located 16km (10 miles) outside of the center of the city. It is a single passenger terminal but is planning to open up a new terminal by 2023. At the airport all of the amenities and services you would expect of a modern airport can be enjoyed including many shops to browse through and a variety of places to eat and drink. Getting to the airport from central Bucharest is possible on public transport including train and bus in a journey taking between 40-50 minutes.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai the weather is a lot hotter compared to Bucharest and gets especially hot over the summer, so you may want to visit sometime between November and March if you want to avoid the heat. There are plenty of hotel accommodation options in Dubai. Nationals including those from EU countries are able to enter Dubai without requiring a visa, while Dubai is only 1 hour ahead of Bucharest.
