Surat Airport is situated around 10 km outside of Surat and currently handles a broad range of domestic flights across India. Travelers looking to fly from the UAE to Surat will be able to make the trip directly out of Sharjah International Airport with Air India Express, currently the only direct service available. However, the airport has extensive connections across India so you can easily transfer to make the journey with only a single stopover from other airports in the UAE.
Surat Airport is comprised of a single passenger terminal which was completed in 2009 and offers all of the amenities and facilities travelers would need for a pleasant stay. Along with a few different cafés and eateries to satisfy your appetite, you can find some basic shops to pick up any travel necessities. Once your flight has touched down at the airport, the most convenient way to travel into the city is to catch a taxi.

The city of Surat is the eighth largest city in India and sits along the coast of Gujarat in the west of the country. Surat has a rich heritage which can be seen in its endless range of historic ruins and interesting landmarks, so you will need a number of days to fully explore the city and the surrounding region. As a UAE national traveling to India, prior to your journey you can apply for an e-visa online which allows you to stay in the country for up to 60 days. The climate in Surat is generally hot all year round, with temperatures peaking from March to June which sees average highs exceeding 35 degrees. There is also a brief rainy season in the region which begins in June and continues until early September, while the rest of the year stays almost perfectly dry. Remember to put your clocks forward by an hour and 30 minutes to get on local time, while the price of things in the city like accommodation and dining out tend to be a lot cheaper compared to the UAE so a tight budget might go a long way.
