Kuwait International Airport is the sole commercial airport serving the country of Kuwait located just 15km outside of Kuwait City. There are direct flights from Dubai International Airport to Kuwait operated by a number of carriers. The airlines currently flying to Kuwait from Dubai International Airport are Emirates, flydubai, Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways. There are also flights to Kuwait originating from Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai’s other main international airport.

Kuwait International Airport has recently benefited from extensive renovation work completed in 2001 that upgraded its facilities to modern standards. Comprised of one main terminal, Terminal 1, as well as the smaller Sheikh Saad Terminal, the airport offers all of the amenities you would expect of a modern international airport such as duty free shopping, restaurants and cafes and a selection of shops. There is a new terminal currently being planned to boost the airport’s capacity, although construction work has not yet begun. There are taxis available for those who have just arrived to get into Kuwait City as well as private limousine services for those preferring a more premium service.

Airport Information - Departing

Dubai International Airport is the main airport in Dubai offering flights all across the globe including to Kuwait. Capable of serving over 80 million passengers a year, the airport is ranked as one of the world’s best and offers a spectacular range of shops, restaurants and cafes for travelers. Alongside this, those who like to wait for flights in luxurious surroundings can visit one of the premium airport lounges at the airport. Dubai International Airport is made up of three passenger terminals which can all be accessed easily from one another. While Terminals 1 and 3 are connected to the Dubai Metro, those needing to get to Terminal 2 can hop on the free shuttle bus which takes 20 minutes. You can use the Dubai Metro network to get to the airport from the wider Dubai area, although you can just as easily hop in a taxi if you prefer.

The weather in Kuwait remains hot all year round, although it can get quite cold on winter nights so be sure to pack appropriately.
