Airport Information - Arriving
Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport is the busiest airport in Iran located around 30 km from the center of Tehran. The airport currently consists of just a single passenger terminal, although there are two additional terminals that are under construction and will open within the next few years. When you have landed at the airport, the most convenient way to travel into the city is by taxi just outside of the terminal. Taxis will come with a fixed rate for journeys into the city and you’ll need to visit a booth in the arrivals hall to prepay for your journey. The airport offers everything you would need for a pleasant stay including a few cafés and eateries as well as duty-free shopping.
Airport Information - Departing
Dubai International Airport is the primary airport serving Dubai consisting of three passenger terminals. You can travel to the airport on the Dubai Metro or by bus if you don’t plan on taking a taxi. While you wait for your flights at the airport there are many things to do to keep yourself occupied. Explore the world-class array of designer, luxury and duty-free stores or grab a bite to eat at one of several restaurants and fast food chains. There are many other facilities provided at the airport including numerous airport lounges, free Wi-Fi connectivity, rest zones and indoor gardens.
What to Expect in Tehran
UAE nationals traveling to Iran will be able to get a visa upon arrival in the country. The weather in Tehran is hot over the summer with average highs of around 33 degrees, although temperatures soon plummet with the onset of winter so you will need some proper winter clothing with you. The local time zone in Iran is just 30 minutes ahead of the UAE, and the currency used in the country is the Iranian rial.
