Iran Air

Iran Air is the flag carrier of Iran operating both domestic and international flights to over 55 destinations including Dubai International Airport. The international hub of the airline is at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport, while its domestic operations are based out of Tehran Mehrabad Airport. Founded in 1944 under the name of Iranian Airways Company, it adopted its current name in 1961 and has gone from strength to strength. As the Middle East’s oldest airline, Iran Air is in the process of significantly bolstering the size of its fleet to further increase its capacity.

How to Check in

Passengers flying with Iran Air are able to check-in to flights the traditional way at the airport. The airline advises all passengers catching international flights to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours in advance, while domestic passengers are advised to check-in at least 90 minutes before departure. Be advised that seats are not able to be allocated to passengers until the day of flights at the airport.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Iran Air allows passengers to bring baggage to check-in as part of the fare, although allowances vary from flight to flight. If your baggage allowance is not published on your ticket, contact the airline directly for up-to-date information. Be advised that no single item of baggage is allowed to exceed 23kg, while any baggage that exceeds your allowance will be subject to excess fees. In addition to checked baggage, travelers are also permitted to bring hand baggage on board flights at no additional charge. Those flying in Economy are allowed one item up to 5kg, while in Homa Class this is increased to 7kg. No item is allowed to exceed 56cm x 45cm x 25cm in size and an additional personal item such as a laptop or handbag is allowed on board.

On Board Service

Travelers with Iran Air can look forward to delicious food and beverages to stay refreshed during your journey. Economy Class passengers on flights over one hour are served hot meals and snacks, while in Homa Class passengers have a choice of different meals and are able to enjoy tea, cakes, fruit and much more as part of the fare.
