Airport Information - Arriving

King Abdulaziz International Airport is the primary airport in Jeddah comprised of three passenger terminals - North Terminal, South Terminal and Hajj Terminal. The North and South terminals are located 8 km away from one another, so you will need to hop in a taxi if you have to transfer between terminals once you land. When you have arrived in Jeddah the most convenient way to reach the center of the city is by taxi, but be sure to agree upon a fare with your driver in order to get a fair price. Alternatively, car rental options are available. The airport itself offers ample facilities so you will be able to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat in addition to a few shops to pick up all of your travel basics.

Airport Information - Departing

Sharjah International Airport is Sharjah’s main airport located around 15km outside of the city center. The airport itself is comprised of a single passenger terminal and offers a wide range of amenities despite being relatively small. At the airport’s food court area you can enjoy a broad selection of eateries and cafes to satisfy your appetite before flying, while there is also extensive duty-free shopping available to buy some cheap goods before your journey. If you aren’t going to drive or take a taxi to the airport, you can use the airport shuttle buses which run to the airport from the city center.

What to Expect in Jeddah

In Jeddah the weather is similar to the UAE – warm throughout the year and especially hot over the summer. UAE nationals will not need to arrange a visa in order to enter Saudi Arabia, although most other nationals will have to get a visa before traveling. Be advised that Jeddah is 1 hour behind Sharjah so don’t forget to set your clocks to local time as soon as you land.
