This lovely small town and harbour has a fabulous aquarium displaying animals and plants found in the local waters. The town makes a great base for exploring the rainforest trails and beaches in the area but there is little else to do here. Norwoods restaurant serves fabulous food and offers great service. It's pricey but worth it.
Ucluelet is always compared to Tofino, and it definitely has a more local feel. As you're enjoying the outdoors, be observant & you'll be able to spot bald eagles. Do have cash handy CIBC is the only big bank present & some mom & pop shop are cash only.
Ucluelet is a nice little town surrounded by some beautiful nature. We visited the town for a day while staying in Tofino, and enjoyed looking at the lighthouses, mountains and beaches.
This is one of the more laid back towns on Vancouver Island. It is a good spot for water activities and generally taking life slow.
