Airport Information - Arriving
Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the main international airport in Shanghai located 30km outside of the city. At the airport you will find a wide selection of amenities and facilities so you won’t be short on things to do. There are a range of shops to browse through at the airport including leading luxury and designer brands and duty free stores, while the airport also offers an eclectic selection of restaurants, eateries and cafes to satisfy your appetite. The airport itself is made up of two passenger terminals including the new Terminal 2 which opened up in 2008, while you can easily reach central Shanghai once you have arrived on the Metro Line 2.
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is the city’s second airport primarily operating as a base for domestic and regional flights. In addition to its selection of dining and drinking establishments offering everything from restaurant fare to fast food, the airport is home to a decent range of shops where you can pick up some last minute travel essentials or gifts. The airport recently opened up a new terminal, Terminal 2, in 2010, while Terminal 1 at the airport is benefiting from renovation work.
Airport Information - Departing
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a new and modern airport with a single terminal building split into three areas - Main Terminal, Area A and Area B. The airport offers all of the facilities and services you would expect of a large airport whether its shops to browse through or places to grab a drink or a meal. Getting to the airport from central Guangzhou is possible using public transport including on the Metro Line 3 and by Airport Express bus.
What to Expect in Shanghai
In Shanghai you can expect the weather to be warm and humid over the summer before turning quite chilly over the winter. You won’t need to arrange a visa when traveling from Guangzhou to Shanghai as it is a domestic route, but you will still need to bring your travel documents including your passport in order to board your flight.
