Cheap Flights from Glasgow to Bordeaux

The city of Bordeaux is served by Bordeaux-Merignac Airport which is situated just 12km outside of the city. Although there are no permanent flights available from Glasgow to Bordeaux, it is possible to fly there on a seasonal basis with easyJet, the only carrier providing flights on this route.

Airport Information - Arriving

Bordeaux-Merignac Airport consists of three passenger terminals - Terminal A, Terminal B and Terminal billi. Terminal billi is dedicated primarily to low-cost carriers and is the base of easyJet flights to and from Bordeaux. Once you have arrived at the airport you can hop on the airport express bus which can take you into the center of Bordeaux, although you can also use a combination of public bus and tram to reach the city if you would prefer. Car rental agencies are also available at the airport. The airport itself offers an ample range of amenities and facilities including a few cafes and eateries as well as duty-free shopping, so you won’t be lacking in things to do. You are also able to enjoy free Wi-Fi at the airport for a period up to 2 hours or use internet kiosks to get online.

Airport Information - Departing

Glasgow International Airport is Glasgow’s primary airport comprised of two passenger terminals. Getting to the airport is easy with the Glasgow Shuttle bus network which can take you straight to the airport from central Glasgow. There is a sizable selection of shops available at the airport which includes duty-free stores and other essential shops to get all your basics so you pick up any last minute things you need. You can also enjoy a meal at one of the airport’s restaurants or cafes if you want to grab a bite to eat before your journey.

What to Expect in Bordeaux

Over the summer in Bordeaux temperatures can reach pleasant highs and its winters are fairly mild, so you can expect the weather to be a lot warmer compared to Glasgow. As Bordeaux is within the Schengen Area most nationals including EU and UAE citizens won’t need to get a visa in order to travel. Within Bordeaux you can explore most of the city center on foot, but the city is well-served by numerous public transport networks so you can also get around the outskirts easily.
