Sharjah International Airport is housed within a single terminal complex which offers a sizable range of amenities and services to meet the needs of travelers. You can use public transport to journey into the center of Sharjah as there are airport shuttle buses available, or you can just as easily hop in a taxi to reach your destination directly. Alternatively, many visitors to the UAE rent a car. While you are waiting at the airport you can find a large number of eateries and cafes at the airport’s food court area to satisfy your appetite, or you can pass the time browsing through shops and buying cheap duty free goods. You can also spend your time in more luxurious surroundings at the CIP Lounge which offers showers, Wi-Fi access and much more.

Airport Information - Departing

King Khalid International Airport is Riyadh’s main airport situated around 35km from the city. The airport is home to 5 passenger terminals, although currently only 3 terminals are being used. Those flying with Saudia and Flynas will be based at Terminal 2, while Air Arabia passengers will fly out of Terminal 1. Once you have arrived at the airport you can find plenty of things to do to pass the time including a selection of shops and duty free shopping, while there are also numerous restaurants and cafes to enjoy something to eat.

What to Expect in Sharjah

In Sharjah the weather is similar to Saudi Arabia – hot throughout the year, although things do cool down a bit over the winter between December and March. Although Saudi Arabian nationals do not require a visa in order to travel to Sharjah, you will need to present a valid national ID card. In Sharjah there is a network of local buses available to help you get around, although you can also opt to rent a car at the airport or make your way around by taxi.
