Fukuoka Airport is the main airport in Fukuoka located 3km from the city. There are a number of options for passengers travelling from Tokyo to Fukuoka. Fukuoka Airport is a busy airport handling over 20 million travelers a year with separate terminals for domestic and international flights. There are many facilities and services to enjoy including a large number of shops in all terminals and many different places to eat and drink. You can also stay connected to the internet with free Wi-Fi or spend your time in a comfortable airport lounge. One of the easiest ways to reach the city of Fukuoka from the airport is on the subway line as the airport has its own subway station, or you can just as easily hop in a taxi to reach your destination.

Airport Information - Departing

Tokyo Haneda Airport is the busiest airport in Japan serving over 70 million visitors each year. All of the amenities and services you would expect of a large airport can be found including numerous places to eat and drink as well as an extensive selection of shops, so you won’t be short on things to do whilst waiting to fly. It is quick and easy to reach Tokyo Haneda Airport from the center of Tokyo as it is connected to the Tokyo Monorail network amongst other public transport networks.

Narita International Airport is Tokyo’s main international airport situated 70km (43 miles) from the city. As with Tokyo Haneda Airport you will find everything you would need at the airport whether it’s shops to browse through or a place to enjoy a quick meal or a drink before your journey. Getting to the airport from central Tokyo only takes around 45 minutes on the Skyline network, while the Narita Express train can get you into Tokyo in less than an hour.

What to Expect in Fukuoka

In Fukuoka the weather can get pleasantly hot over the summer months (June to September), while in winter its can be fairly cold so remember to pack appropriately. Be advised that rainfall is quite common in Fukuoka throughout the year with a period of heavy rainfall happening between June and July.
