The bustling capital Dhaka is famed for its historic Old Town and abundant religious and historical landmarks, while the port city of Chittagong is an excellent coastal getaway offering both heritage and nature. Lovers of the great outdoors must visit the sprawling Cox’s Bazar Beach which stretches for around 120 km along the south-eastern coast near Chittagong. Alternatively, venture out to the beautiful St. Martins Island off the coast and experience the vibrant marine and coral life.
Arriving in Bangladesh
Upon arrival at your chosen airport you will find that local taxis are readily available and can take you directly to your destination. Not all airports will benefit from public transportation so you are best off relying on a taxi. Some airports including Dhaka Airport have car rental companies available on site if you plan on exploring the country with your own vehicle. Many car rental agencies will provide their own driver due to the difficult nature of navigating the local roads in Bangladesh, although self-drive options are also available. Additionally, hotels and resorts in the country will often be able to provide their own airport transfer services if this is easier for you.
